The Student Theatre of the University of Latvia takes part in the 40th anniversary celebrations of the Gulbene People's Theatre with two performances: "How Fast Time Rushes By" and "The Last Night of Socrates".
A total of 5 theatres will help celebrate the anniversary of Gulbene People's Theatre with special mini-festival "Theatre Stop in Gulbene". All performances will take place in Gulbene Culture Centre. Find the poster here.

From 20 to 26 July, the University of Latvia (UL) Women's Choir "Balta", under the direction of artistic director and conductor Mara Marnauza, will represent Latvia at the 71st International Habanera and Polyphony Competition in Torrevieja, Spain. It is one of the most prestigious choral competitions of this genre in the world, where every summer choirs from all over the world gather to compete for the recognition of the jury and the public. The University of Latvia (UL) male vocal ensemble "Dancis" will perform at the Subate Town Festival “SUBATE 455”. With a concert at 12:00pm in Subate market square they will get everyone's hips moving with some fun tunes and powerful men's voices. Together with "Dancis", the Lithuanian capella "Malunai" and the dance group "Patrepsiukas", the middle generation dance groups "Ilūkste" and "Pilskalne" of the Ilūkste Culture and Art Centre will also take part in the musical programme of the town festival.
