Mixed choir "Monēta" is joining the UL Culture Centre

On 9 July 2025, Gundars Bērziņš, Rector of the University of Latvia, issued an order to include the mixed choir “Monēta” among the University’s official artistic groups. This decision follows the reorganisation of the BA School of Business and Finance. The order will take effect on 1 September 2025.

The mixed choir “Monēta” was reestablished in 2011 at the BA School of Business and Finance, and ever since Ilze Feldmane has served as its artistic director and conductor. The ensemble’s artistic development is further supported by vocal coach Laura Kancāne.

Over the years, “Monēta” has earned recognition as a creative, innovative, and internationally active participant in Latvia’s choral music scene. The choir has gained valuable experience abroad and actively contributes to significant cultural and social events in Latvia.

They are a strong and inspiring group of singers who have demonstrated their artistic excellence both in Latvia and internationally.
