The University of Latvia Culture Centre is where the academic world meets creative freedom. It’s not just about rehearsals or concerts – it’s a community where artistic expression becomes part of everyday life, where friendships are formed, memories are made, and bonds are forged that last a lifetime.
What’s more, this year promises to be especially exciting – the Baltic Student Song and Dance Festival “Gaudeamus” will take place! It’s the biggest event of the year, bringing together student groups from all across the Baltics. Just imagine: the Latvian Song and Dance Festival, multiplied by three! You definitely won’t want to miss it.
This academic year, every UL student, employee, and graduate is invited to become part of one of our diverse artistic groups – choirs, dance and vocal ensembles, folklore groups, theatre, orchestra, or ceramics studios. Regardless of your previous experience, our doors are wide open.

This year, a couple of artistic groups are offering a unique opportunity – Open Door Days – where you can attend selected group rehearsals and take a peek behind the scenes, normally closed to outsiders.

Folk Applied Arts Studio "Vāpe"
Admission will begin after moving to the new location, around October.
How to Apply
Come to the scheduled enrollment time of the artistic group you’re interested in. Representatives will be there to welcome you and explain the admission process.
