
On October 3 at 7:00 p.m., the mixed choir "Dziesmuvara" will participate in the experimental music festival "Skaņu Mežs" concert "Balss lūzums" (Voice Break). At the unconventional music festival in Riga, "Dziesmuvara" will perform together with Kārlis Tonis, Sarmu Gabrēna, and Uģis Jansons Krastiņš. On October 4, the mixed choir “Monēta” will represent University of Latvia in the Latvian choir and vocal ensemble competition “Cēsis”, which will bring together around 40 groups from all regions of Latvia. Find out more on the competition website.
On October 11 at 5 p.m., the women's choir “Minjona” invites you to its 50th anniversary concert in the Great Hall of the University of Latvia. The concert will be a special celebration, bringing together different generations - current singers and former choir members, united in a journey of music and memories. On October 12 at 5 p.m., the chamber choir “DeCoro” will perform at the Zirgu Street Concert Hall with a concert “ES DZIEDU VISS” (I Sing Everything). The program features music by Imants Kalniņš, and they will perform together with Evita Zālīte (soprano), Ilze Grunte (guitar), Gidons Grīnbergs (violin), Andis Klučnieks (flute), Andris Grunte (double bass), and Kārlis Kundrāts (piano). From October 7 to 18, the dance folklore group "Dandari" will participate in the project "Dance Master Classes in Vidzeme". They will travel throughout Vidzeme with dance master classes – on October 7 at 6:00 p.m. at the Smiltene Culture House, on October 13 at 7:00 p.m. at the Valmiera Culture House, on October 14 at 7:00 p.m. at the Madona Culture House, October 17 at 7:00 p.m. at the Līgatne Culture House, October 18 at 6:00 p.m. at "Malā" in Cēsis. On October 18 at 6 p.m., the mixed choir "Juventus" will celebrate its 105th anniversary and invites listeners to the anniversary concert "JUVENTUS 105", which will take place in the Great Hall of the Riga Culture and Folk Art Center "Mazā Ģilde". The anniversary celebrations will feature performances by friends of the choir: guitarist Kaspars Zemītis, the band Sigma, soloists Ieva Kerēvica and Aija Vītoliņa, bass guitarist Aivars Meijers, pianist Edgars Tomševics, and percussionists Ernests Mediņš and Reinis Tomiņš. On October 18 at 4:00 p.m., the LU alumni mixed choir "Jubilate" will perform at the 80th anniversary concert of the Stockholm Latvian Choir in distant Finland, Stockholm.
On October 31 at 7:30 p.m., the Student Theater will participate in a performance of biographical poetry entitled "How Fast Time Flies".
On September 16, a fundraising campaign was launched for the 45th anniversary event of the dance folklore group "Dandari" called "Dandarballes." Donate and join us in supporting "Dandarballes," which will take place on November 15, 2025, in the Great Hall of the University of Latvia. Everyone is invited to participate – "Dandarballes" will offer the opportunity to dance classic quadrilles, polkas, and waltzes, which everyone can do. The event is free of charge, but in order to create a truly festive atmosphere and provide the necessary equipment, Dandari invites you to support the anniversary with a donation through the University of Latvia Foundation.
