100 Days Until the Gaudeamus Festival

In just 100 days, during the summer solstice period, the XX Baltic States Student Song and Dance Festival GAUDEAMUS will take place in Riga, bringing together choirs, folk dance ensembles, and wind orchestras from higher education institutions in Latvia, Lithuania, and Estonia.

More than 2000 participants from 13 Latvian higher education institutions, over 1400 participants from 15 Lithuanian institutions, and more than 1100 participants from Estonian institutions are actively preparing for the festival. In March and April, participants meet for joint rehearsals to continue learning and refining the festival repertoire.

During the festival, 66 choirs, 44 folk dance ensembles, and 9 wind orchestras will perform in concerts held at the Great Hall of the University of Latvia, Vērmanes Garden, Dome Square, the Dailes Theatre, Riga Cathedral, Old Riga, and Freedom Square.

Admission to the festival’s open-air concerts will be free of charge for all interested visitors. Concerts at the Dailes Theatre and the Great Hall of the University of Latvia will require free admission tickets. Information about how to obtain these tickets will follow.

To mark 100 days until the upcoming festival, participants from all three participating countries have joined together in a special video greeting.
