SUMMARY:"Just a Concert" with University of Latvia Wind Band
DESCRIPTION:Concert “Just a Concert!” is a warm invitation to all music lovers for a special evening\, where we will enjoy a varied\, stylistically colourful and emotionally rich programme. From Gunārs Ordelovskis' joyful march “Easy Step” to the favourite melodies of the legendary band ABBA\, this concert will offer something familiar and close to everyone's heart.\nThe University of Latvia Wind Orchestra will be joined on stage by outstanding guest artists with whom the Orchestra has already established successful collaborations - accordionist Agate Paštore\, cellist Ēriks Kiršfelds and bassist Vitālijs Stankevičis.\nThis concert\, despite it's title\, is special because it is the birthday of LUPO's founder and conductor Janis Purins! To mark the occasion\, a new work “Celebrations of Auce” by composer Andris Vecumnieks\, will be premiered - a musical tribute to Puriņš' hometown\, where his musical journey began.\nThe programme will also be complemented by Juris Karlsons' energetic “Samba”\, French composer Serge Lansen's romantic “Paris Symphony”\, Astor Piazzolla's passionate tango “Adiós Nonino”\, Freddie Mercury's legendary “Bohemian Rhapsody” and other musical surprises.\nEveryone is invited to join - the concert is for free!
